THE TRADESMAN: Arthur loses his job, he has been victimised for his activism, he sets up as a self employed jack of all trades, but times are tough. Sandra's parental opposition only compounds this & after a bitter argument, the relationship crumbles due to outside pressure. Their world is broken. Arthur can only look at a photo of them together, they are both distraught.
lyrics
THE TRADESMAN:
All I think is how my life went wrong
I stop & think, why so down, so long?
I step outside though I no longer smoke
She finished with me, it's no longer a joke
No football on, since the thunder fell
Then rain stopped play, I'm as tired as hell
I'd go for a pint, but the pub shut down
I need some change, I need to leave this town
Half past eight, outside cold & dark
I turn the key, but the van won't start
I forgot my phone, but don't expect a call
My flask has has leaked, there's tea spilled over the floor
I can't replace you in my mind
I need to leave that world behind
I can't move on although I try
